SBDP Vision Group is a research program that focuses on risk biomarkers of serious mental illnesses in youth.

The Vision Group is a part of McLean Hospital’s Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder Research (SBDP) Program. The focus of our research is identifying early risk biomarkers for serious mental illnesses in children and adolescents and developing preventative interventions for at-risk youth.

Our Vision

is a future where:

Young individuals and families are empowered with knowledge about biological and environmental factors that increase the risk of future serious mental illnesses.

Clinicians are equipped with tools to identify young individuals at high risk for developing such illnesses early and with high accuracy.

There are effective preventative interventions that target early brain changes, mitigating the risk of serious mental illnesses.

To realize this vision, we foster a partnership among young individuals, families, clinicians, and researchers.
